The 51st Annual London Bridge Days parade was a blast! This year’s theme, “Life is Better at the Lake” inspired us to creatively point people to Jesus. We went with a beach theme, decorating the remote vehicle with palm trees, water waves, and a sandy beach with a sign that read, “Jesus didn’t need a jet ski -John 6:19! On the loud speaker, we blasted Citizen Way and Bart Millard’s song, WaveWalker. Some of the lyrics stated, “When I keep my eyes on You Jesus, I’m a wave walker”—we hope that message sunk in! We handed out over 1,200 candy bags and it was encouraging to hear the laughs and positive comments as people read the sign.
As you are well aware, the world is getting darker, and we are faced with the reality that most of the people we encounter on a day-to-day basis are lost, without hope. We are exhorted to“take advantage of every opportunity...” (Ephesians 5:16). We scattered some seed, now let’s pray for the harvest!
