Recently, a battle of epic proportions unfolded in Las Vegas, Nevada. The tension had been building for several months, and now the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers were playing for the Super Bowl LVIII title.
Excitement was building to a fevered intensity as 72,000 fans attended in person at Allegiant Stadium while millions more watched around the world. Think of the passion, the commitment . . . the highest stadium ticket prices exceeded $34,000! Want to promote your product or service during Super Bowl? A thirty second advertisement costs seven million dollars to air and millions more to produce. Does that seem like a lot of money? According to the National Retail Foundation, fans across the country will spend 17.3 billion dollars this year on the Super Bowl for things like food, drink, apparel decorations and other purchases.
After winning with a dramatic overtime touchdown, Chiefs quarter Patrick Mahomes gave God the glory, saying the Lord “challenged” his team all season.
I enjoy watching the Super Bowl, especially when I hear a player give glory to God.
What if we were that driven and passionate about the spiritual battle we are engaged in today? The prize is much greater than a Super Bowl trophy or ring!
