First KNLB studio, July 1983
It really did not seem like much. A stack of obsolete equipment designed in the 1950's, a small, desert town, a local pastor with a vision, and a small group of people willing to pray, volunteer, and support what seemed like a crazy endeavor. The audio console looked like a prop from a 50's science fiction movie, and the building did not even have any windows. And who really knew anything about radio, anyway? It was easy to dismiss this as a pipe dream that would never gain traction, let alone make much difference. However, as we look back, 40 years later, we recognize that is was not the equipment, the size of the city, or the people involved that made the difference. It was prayer, to a God who is faithful, a God who is "able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
As we reflect back on the last 40 years, a common theme becomes evident. God has been faithful to this ministry. Wonderful people have been faithful to give and support through financial support, volunteerism and prayer. And God has been faithful to respond by changing hearts and lives through the radio signals that carry His word throughout the southwest.
On our 40th anniversary, we thank God for his faithfulness, and people like you, whose faithful support also make it possible!
Please pray for this ministry, especially during our Share the Light mid summer pledge drive, as we are believing God that the best is yet to come!
